Avinash Jagwani, CPA, CA
Founding PartnerAvinash received his Chartered Professional Accounting designation in 2013 while articling for KPMG. He has a deep understanding of clients’ financial data, their strategic impact on organizational performance, and how they can be used to reduce financial risks. He specializes in providing accounting and CFO services to businesses in the technology, real estate, cannabis, crypto, and professional services industries.
In his spare time, Avinash likes to stay active and enjoys cycling, swimming, and spending quality time with his son and wife engaging in fun outdoor activities in the beautiful British Columbia.
Mitra Kazemi, CPA, CA, MPAcc
Founding PartnerMitra is one of the founding partners at NOVAA, where she helps high-net-worth individuals and organizations in the private, public, and not-for-profit sectors. She earned her Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of British Columbia and her Master of Professional Accounting (MPAcc) degree at the University of Saskatchewan. She completed her Chartered Professional Accounting designation at KPMG Vancouver, where she specialized in providing audit services to both publicly and privately held companies in real estate, financial services, and health sciences. Mitra has extensive experience in research, analysis, and reporting under IFRS, US GAAP, ASPE, NPO, and PSAB standards.
In her spare time, she enjoys keeping up with worldwide financial markets, cooking delicious homemade meals with fresh ingredients, and spending quality time with her son and husband enjoying the outdoors on beautiful sunny days.
Jashan Pahwa, CPA
PartnerJashan is a Chartered Professional Accountant with over eight years of industry experience. He specializes in providing tax, estate planning and other business consulting services to a wide variety of technology, cannabis, real estate, and renewable energy companies, both public and private. He also specializes in advising on Scientific Research and Development Tax credits and working with not-for-profit organizations.
During his downtime, he enjoys cooking and playing badminton. He is passionate about travelling to new places in the beautiful backyard of BC, and to countries around the world.
Sofia Marcos
Operations ManagerSofia plays a crucial role in assisting with the operations of this esteemed professional accounting firm. Her dedication and hard work ensure that everything runs smoothly and efficiently. If you find that everything is in perfect order and you are satisfied with the quality of service we provide, it is largely due to her exceptional contributions and commitment to excellence.
Sofia is also a certified yoga instructor who loves spending time with her family, practicing yoga, and exploring Vancouver.
Nyrica Trikannad, CPA
ManagerNyrica is a Chartered Accountant with a master’s in accounting and taxation and more than six years of focused experience in corporate taxation within a career spanning over a decade in accounting and finance. She has worked with several large technology and professional services clients, leveraging her skill-sets to guide them through strategic tax planning processes. Nyrica has a deep understanding of her client’s business and can identify and deliver solutions best suited to their requirements. Before NOVAA, Nyrica was associated with Deloitte India.
Outside of office hours, Nyrica enjoys spending time with her family, reading books and writing short stories, watching movies, and visiting places.
Shipra Gusain
Senior AccountantShipra is driven and detail-oriented finance professional with 3 years of experience in accounting & banking operations. She holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce and recently completed postgraduate diploma in financial analysis and planning. She is well equipped to provide valuable support on financial reporting and transactional accounting duties. She prides herself on the ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Her problem-solving skills and listening skills make her an active team member in a fast-paced environment to drive business growth. In her spare time, she likes to go out on sunny days and explore local attractions or take a day trip to nearby areas. She also likes to spend time painting on canvas and watch movies/shows at home.
