Avinash received his Chartered Professional Accounting designation in 2013 while articling for KPMG. He has a deep understanding of clients’ financial data, their strategic impact on organizational performance, and how they can be used to reduce financial risks. He specializes in providing accounting and CFO services to businesses in the technology, real estate, cannabis, crypto, and professional services industries.
In his spare time, Avinash likes to stay active and enjoys cycling, swimming, and spending quality time with his son and wife engaging in fun outdoor activities in the beautiful British Columbia.
Founding Partner
Mitra is one of the founding partners at NOVAA, where she helps high-net worth individuals and organizations in the private, public and the not-for-profit sectors. She earned her Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of British Columbia and her Master of Professional Accounting (MPAcc) degree at the University of Saskatchewan. She completed her Chartered Professional Accounting designation at KPMG Vancouver, where she specialized in providing audit services to both publicly and privately held companies in real estate, financial services, and health sciences. Mitra has extensive experience in research, analysis, and reporting under IFRS, US GAAP, ASPE, NPO, and PSAB standards.
In her spare time, she enjoys keeping up with worldwide financial markets, cooking delicious homemade meals with fresh ingredients, and spending quality time with her son and husband enjoying the outdoors on beautiful sunny days.
Partner
Jashan is a Chartered Professional Accountant with over eight years of industry experience. He specializes in providing tax, estate planning and other business consulting services to a wide variety of technology, cannabis, real estate, and renewable energy companies, both public and private. He also specializes in advising on Scientific Research and Development Tax credits and working with not-for-profit organizations.
During his downtime, he enjoys cooking and playing badminton. He is passionate about travelling to new places in the beautiful backyard of BC, and to countries around the world.
Senior Accountant
Winnie has a passion for helping others and providing value-added analysis to drive growth. With a background in accounting and communications, she provides her clients with great advice, professionalism, and peace of mind. Winnie successfully wrote the CPA CFE in 2018 and is working towards obtaining her designation.
When Winnie is not working, she loves to travel. When not traveling, you can find her curled up at home with a good book or trying new recipes.
Senior Accountant
Nyrica is a Chartered Accountant with a Master’s in Accounting and Taxation. She has more than six years of extensive experience in corporate taxation in a career spanning over a decade. She has worked with several large technologies and professional service clients, leveraging her skill-sets to guide them through strategic tax planning processes. Nyrica has a deep understanding of her client’s business and can identify and deliver solutions best suited to their requirements. Before NOVAA, Nyrica was associated with Deloitte India..
Outside of office hours, Nyrica enjoys spending time with her family, reading books and writing short stories, watching movies, and visiting places.
Senior Accountant
Leila has a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting and is working towards her CPA designation. She comes with over six years of accounting experience in different industries and has demonstrated her knowledge of financial reporting, management accounting, finance, internal auditing, tax, and performance management throughout her accounting career. Leila has great attention to detail; she understands her clients’ reporting needs and ensures she is attentive to them.
When not working, Leila likes to read, go for a walk, and spend time with her family and friends.
Staff Accountant
Ishmeet is a dedicated and detail-oriented accounting professional. With a strong accounting background, she has the proven ability to build a relationship with all the clients and offer value-added services. She is an attentive learner and works well in a high-performing team. Currently, Ishmeet is pursuing her master’s in Business Administration to have a better experience of the managerial side of the business.
Apart from studying and working, she loves to taste different cuisines and likes to explore British Columbia.

Yasaman is a finance professional with over six years experience in business and accounting. Coming from an educational background in Finance, she is pursuing her CPA pathway along with a business analysis certification. Her strategic thinking, analytical skills, and ability to build strong relationships have enabled her to achieve outstanding outcomes.
In her free time, she loves to go hiking, dancing salsa and paddle boarding.

Sachin is a dynamic professional with a wealth of expertise in the world of finance and accounting. Armed with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and an MBA, Sachin is working towards achieving the ACCA designation. Sachin has over five years of hands-on experience in financial accounting and auditing. Having worked with big 4 firms such as EY Sri Lanka and PWC Sri Lanka, Sachin has gained invaluable insights into the intricacies of the financial world. His meticulous attention to detail, coupled with a keen eye for strategic decision-making, sets him apart in the realm of numbers and analytics.
Beyond the boardrooms and balance sheets, Sachin plays cricket. He also indulges his creative spirit in the captivating world of photography.

Shipra is driven and detailed oriented finance professional with 3 years of experience in accounting & banking operations. She holds bachelors in commerce and recently completed post graduate diploma in financial analysis and planning. She is well equipped to provide valuable support on financial reporting and transactional accounting duties She prides herself on the ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Her problem-solving skills and listening skills make her active team member in a fast-paced environment to drive business growth. In her spare time, she likes to go out on sunny days and explore local attractions or take a day trip to nearby areas. She also likes to spend time painting on canvas and watch movies / shows at home.
